Be welcome

Dear visitor, this blog is written by the band Other Day. We got our ears pointed and finally decided to share our experiences and feelings with you, because we realized the problems in finding all information about this procedure gathered on one site in the internet. We hope you'll enjoy this blog and find some information you're looking for.

If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please feel free to contact us on Facebook or via comments.

Please feel welcome to our dreamworld.

Day 46

It seems that the pus stopped. Today there was just blood on the little gauze-packages and there was dried blood between helix and ear down till the earlobe.
Keep fingers crossed that now everything will heal well!

Day 44

Wow, this is strange. NOW we're having problems with our ears... at least one of us. One of Niha's ears started to suppurate two days ago. Well... shouldn't everything be healed till now?! Unfortunately the helix of one ear is really close to the rest of the ear. Because of this it's hard to clean, no air comes under it and this warm/wet place is the right place for bacilli.
At least there seems to be something like a little "hole" in the skin directly under the ear point. The sanies runs down till the earlobe, especially during the night. We couldn't imagine that this is really pus, so we told ourselves that this is some kind of dirt... yes... yellow, stinky dirt.... yeah, stupid, we know. So we visited a friend of us who is working as a nurse and she recommended to use a more agressiv kind of germicide (no too often) and to fold little packages of gauze and to put them under the helix, so it stands up from the rest of the ear and the wound can dry.
Fortunately the ear doesn't hurt, just after the use of germicide.
We hope, it will heal soon.

Day 35

Finally we remembered the password we used for this account and are able to post again!!! :)

Yesterday we had our first performance with our elf ears <3
We played a short concert and gave an interview during the so called "Kulturmesse" in Naumburg, Germany.

A photographer took a great shot of Sad where you can see is amazing ears:

more pretty pics will follow soon!!!

Day 17

Our ears still hurt... at least more than the first day after pointing them but it's far from the pain we had the first 30 minutes after the treatment by Steve. Because we hadn't much pain the first and second week after pointing them, we can't compare the pain steady.

Pics will follow this evening.

Day 16 - stitches out

Today it was time to take the stitches out. Usually removing stitches isn't that hard, 'cause it doesn't hurt although a lot of people are scared of this procedure. We were pretty calm before the nurse started, just being a bit afraid that the point might not hold it's shape. We thought, because one stitch grew out taking the other stitches out would be easy but this was definitely a false idea because touching the points as roughly as it's necessary for taking out the stitches isn't comfortable and the pain can't be compared to a "usual" removing of stitches. We were afraid that our ears could get damaged because the stitches were really tight and the nurse had problems to go under the stitch with her tools. So the whole procedure really hurt a lot... maybe as much as the stitching part during the pointing procedure. That's why we can't imagine that taking them out by yourself is as easy as everyone told.

Our ears look and feel angry right now:

as you can see the point is swollen again :/

After this pics we wraped new tape around our ears to support the fresh pointed shape.

Day 15

Yesterday the stitch at the top of our ear fell off. It seems that everything is healed (at least the skin) and we can be glad that no stitch was incorporated into our ear and got an infection. So we decided to remove all the other stitches tomorrow, after 16 days instead of 17 days as we intendet.
We're really looking forward seeing them without any blood ans stitches.
Pics of our pretty ears will follow tomorrow!!!
