Be welcome

Dear visitor, this blog is written by the band Other Day. We got our ears pointed and finally decided to share our experiences and feelings with you, because we realized the problems in finding all information about this procedure gathered on one site in the internet. We hope you'll enjoy this blog and find some information you're looking for.

If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please feel free to contact us on Facebook or via comments.

Please feel welcome to our dreamworld.

what could go wrong

To keep this blog clear we want to share our second link in a separate entry:

please choose your artist well! Don’t choose your artist because of the price! Only people with a lot of experience can handle such a difficult surgery!

Look what can go wrong:

does this look like the ears you dreamed of? Probably not!

Maybe you also found this pictures during your research:

Sorry for this disgusting picture but people can never be warned too often. The whole story behind these pictures we found here:

Ear Pointing fail

To make a long story short:
You can see the ear of a person who let an amateur body modifier do their ear pointing because they didn’t want to spend the money to have it done by someone qualified. That is why her ears were cut and folded over at an extreme angle (not to mention how hilarious inappropriate paper towels are that are used as a DIY surgical drape). In photo 2 (day one) and 3 (day five) the ear is starting to tear open. You can also see an infection, made worse by insufficient care on the part of the client.  By the end of the first week (photo 4) the sutures have completely torn out and the ear is back to its original shape, minus the part that was cut out.

At the end the infection went through the majority of the cartilage, so her ear was cleaned up at the hospital. Some cartilage was lost.
Here you can see her ear at the other side two years afterwards: ear
But don’t forget: this isn ’t a photo of the other side that matches the more damaged ear and it shows the ear in the best possible light.

There is no excuse for working in an unsafe and unclean environment. There is no excuse for going to an unqualified practitioner. There is no excuse for not caring for your body and not listening to your body.

You just have one pair of ears, so choose your artist well!
